Meissen is the city of „white gold“, porcelain, which saw the light of Europe in Saxony in an alchemist’s workshop. Around the castle hill, cathedral and old town, Meissen is a beautiful destination on the Elbe.
A quickly reachable destination from Leipzig in east germany is the hill church Beucha. Hill – church? Near Leipzig? Well, the hill is 20m high, but the quarry underneath makes the sight spectacular. A short circular walk or a concert in the church round off the visit.
